1. Pre-Processing
- Stems are loaded into the DAW for initial cleaning.
- Unwanted frequencies are removed, enhancements added, and gain structure carefully balanced.
- Demo mix is loaded onto a channel with A/B switching for comparison.
2. Analogue Treatments
- Sounds are processed through analogue EQs, compressors, and effects.
- Hardware reverbs and effects add warmth and depth beyond what plugins can achieve.
- Bus compression and EQ are applied before routing through a summing mixer.
- The mix then passes through a high-end analogue chain via an insert switcher.
3. Analogue Tape
- The final mix is recorded to a fully restored Studer B67 mastering tape machine using NOS 900 tape.
- Tape warmth and glue are captured without unwanted hiss, then re-recorded into the DAW via a Crookwood C2 mastering system.
- The track is now ready for mastering.
4. Mastering
- Mastering blends analogue hardware and digital tools for precision and musicality.
- Masters are dynamic, loud, and clear — never over-compressed.
